Spanish Progress

April 10, 2008

I’m so happy, i am making so much progress in my spanish course.

I took my Level II exam yesterday and i aced it! I’ll start level III next week.

Midway through level II the school decided to change my professor. I got along really well with my first teacher so i was surprised that they decided to give me a new one but once i saw the quality of the new one i was happy with their decision.

The first teacher was good but her teaching style was completely different. I think she does a good job for beginners but once the school sees that the student is seriously thinking about becoming fluent in spanish they change instructors. The second one (current) is excellent. The way she teaches, reviews, motivates and encourages me to speak makes it so much fun.

It is cool that i can now put sentences together, express myself, and ask questions. I just need more practice. I guess that is where it would be helpful to be in a group session rather than a private one to one. In a group you get to meet other students that you can speak to outside the school where as with me, 95% of the talking and listening i do is in class. I don’t get much practice.

Supposedly level III sucks because it is very technical with the verbs but i’m still looking forward to it.

If i keep up this pace i should be fluent by the end of the year!
